Meet the Team
Dawn Karber, Executive Director
Dawn is a purpose-driven leader with more than 20 years of experience in the workforce development sector. She joined SkillsFWD after serving as the chief operations and equal opportunity officer at a prominent regional workforce board.
Across her career, Dawn has crafted national workforce strategies that are regarded as national best practices. Her achievements include establishing a career and education center for young adults that recently graduated its 1,000th student and partnering with Fox and PBS television stations in the Pacific Northwest and Canada to create valuable career content that now reaches 2.3 million homes.
Dawn enjoys transforming bold ideas into reality and supporting projects that enhance economic mobility. She is grateful the support of her spirited little dog, Jobe, and for the privilege of working alongside Madelyn, Lori, Rockefeller Philanthropic Advisors, and the extended network of partners, supporters and friends of SkillsFWD.
Madelyn Rahn, Network Manager
Madelyn Rahn is a workforce development policy specialist whose work has focused on the intersection of technology and workforce development for several years.
Before beginning her role as Network Manager at SkillsFWD, she served as the deputy director of policy at Research Improving People's Lives and as a policy analyst at the National Governors Association. She has extensive experience supporting stakeholders across the workforce development ecosystem system to align on objectives and action plans to drive innovation. She is passionate about creating systems that enhance opportunities and outcomes for workers in an increasingly dynamic labor market.
Madelyn holds a master’s in public policy and a BA in public policy and sociology from the University of Denver. She currently lives in Reno, Nevada with her dog, Bruiser.
